Just finished my Ab Jam workout. I'm glad that I did it actually. My abs are one of the most obvious things that I feel that I need to work on. I've lost most of the extra skin and whatnot from being pregnant, but I still have a little pooch of fat/skin that I'd really like to get rid of. Now I know that it's healthy for women to have at least a slight pooch, so I'm not expecting to get rid of it completely, but I would like it to be where it used to be. I really like the Ab Jam workout though. Never before have I done a 20 minute brutal ab workout like that and actually found myself smiling. That workout goes very quickly too. It feels more like 10 minutes, not the killer 20 that it is. I almost quit after the standing abs, but convinced myself to go ahead and finish it.
Since starting this blog I've been thinking about working out more, obviously. The main reason that I like it so much is that it makes me feel confident and sexy again. Even if I have gained extra weight over the last few years, it still feels good to sweat, and to get my body to go through these movements. Especially with Turbo Jam, because it feels dancy. Yes, I've been doing these routines off and on for 3 years, and I'm a little bored with them sometimes, but there's still always something else that I can be working on with them.
Oh, I'm also going to break out my Body for Life: Women's edition tonight and start reading that again. The first time I read it I LOVED it. I also hadn't had a baby yet, so there are new sections of that book for me to explore. That's one thing that I loved about it, that it didn't say, "here's how women should work out". It breaks it down into the various life stages for women. Men don't have as much trouble with that kind of thing, but women, a 21 year old woman has a completely different body from a 50 year old woman that has birthed, nursed, and raised 4 children. I appreciate that they acknowledged that difference and are helping women through it and figuring out what they need to do to help out THEIR specific body types. That's all for tonight. Going to grab my book and go read for a while before I head to bed.
